Feegle the cat, reporting once again for blogging duty! Today I’m sorting you humans out with self-care. Let’s face it; you’re rubbish at it.
The Importance of Self-Care
I will never understand humans. You want to dash about everywhere. I’m partial to a furious dart around the house, usually in the evenings, cat style. I don’t do that all day though.
Why do you humans always feel the need to be busy? You’re not impressing anyone, least of all me, and that’s the most important thing.
Relax, humans. You’re going to get tied up in knots, like that time I had an incident with a ball of string. I don’t like to talk about it. It’s too fresh.
Self-care isn’t selfish. I should know. I’m a cat and we are selfish creatures who make no apologies for it. We are here to be worshipped and adored.
Looking after yourself isn’t looking out for yourself above others. It’s survival. Wise kitty cat, aren’t I? You may adore me some more.
Learn to Relax

Find something that helps you to rest and relax. It can be hard to do at first if you’re one of those twitchy, must-do-all-the-things humans. Glue yourself to a chair if you must. Sit still!
Spend at least a few minutes every day sitting on your bum and doing nothing. Think, empty your mind, do whatever you need to do to be still.
Warning: this may result in a cat nap. Fabulous result if you ask me but maybe not so much for you humans who are at work.
Meditate
Meditation can sound a bit weird.
Personally I’m not a fan of chanting and finding higher powers to talk to. I am the highest power. Because. Cat.
Meditation is about resting, breathing, and sifting through your head to clear it out a bit. It’s a bit like the in between litter tray cleans, when the human sorts out my business by using the sifter to get the icky bits. I’m too much of a lady to go into detail.
Once more, meditation can lead to naps. This is why I am a meditator extraordinaire.
Talk to Friends

Catch up with friends. Talk to them about your problems or use the time with them to escape them.
Friends are great. Don’t tell Wullie, but he is my friend really. We like to cosy up together nowadays for optimum double cat-napping. Wullie is rubbish at listening though. He’s usually too busy wrecking the house.
Find a Hobby
Having a hobby can be good for you. Developing interests outside work and life commitments keeps your mind focused and can make you happy.
I like to start new hobbies on a regular basis. Most of mine involve finding premium spots around the house where Wullie can’t find me, inventing a new set of meows to confuse the humans, sleeping, eating, and a bit more sleeping.
Take a Break

You working humans work too much. I’ve heard, to my horror, that some of you work through your lunch break. STOP!
There is always time for food and a cheeky nap. Breaks make you more productive. Your brain needs time to reset. I know. I spend most of my day thinking of ways to outcat Wullie. It’s a taxing business. A sneaky snooze always makes me more powerful.
Get Away From the Screen
I swear you humans will soon have phones for faces. I sometimes see more of the back of a mobile than I do of my cat slaves’ faces. Don’t tell the slaves this, but I like to see their faces, usually because they’re smiling and adoring me.
I don’t know what you need to spend so much time on the web thing. Spiders are overrated. Webs are designed to trap you. You humans are just launching yourselves into that web like stupid spiders. I eat spiders. Be warned.
Love More
Preferable love your cats more but if you must, love other humans. Show the love.
Give your cats extra treats. Tell a human how much they mean to you. Donate to charities. Be nice. Give me extra belly fusses and chin rubs. We’ll both feel good about that.
Over to You
How adorable am I? You may comment if it’s favourable.
If you must, comment on what you do for self-care. I may reply if I’m not sleeping.
This made me LOL. Thanks, I needed that. 😁
You’re welcome! Thank you.
